Last month, Oprah hosted an ABC News special focusing on GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Zepbound.
According to Oprah, I’m not fluffy because I’m lazy-- I’m fluffy because I’m biologically predisposed to want to eat and/or hold onto fat. Being fluffy is not my fault, and now a medication can help me! And those using these meds shouldn't be shamed. I agree.
But despite Oprah's optimism, I still have some lingering concerns about GLP-1 medications.
While it can be true that these drugs are effective and are miracle drugs, it can also be true that the drugs might have risks and are possibly being abused/misused by doctors, patients, and pharmacies.
I'd appreciate a read (for at least thirty seconds) and a clap if you have time.
