Why Our Family Choose to Adopt a Senior Rescue Dog Instead of a Puppy: Celebrating Goldy's One Year Gotcha Day

It's almost our Goldy girl's gotcha day. We adopted her from Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue Inc where she was listed as a "senior" dog. That gave Kevin some pause. Older dogs could be medically expensive and emotionally hard if her life span is shorter.

But we decided to move forward anyway and give her a family for her golden years. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. We adore this dog so much.

The adoption rate for puppies and younger dogs is 60%, while for older dogs, it is 25%. Consider adopting a senior dog or any rescue dog if given the chance. They need families, too!

I'd appreciate some clapping and comments if you have time to celebrate our girl! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she lives forever.
