My latest boosted essay is about what Dry January taught me about my alcoholic father. In the face of societal pressure, I couldn't make it thirty days without alcohol. Inflicted with a disease that gave him the propensity to want alcohol, he had made it seventeen years sober. I'm incredibly proud of his sobriety journey, and will be more mindful of those who abstain going forward.
